How to Choose an Anti Aging Skin Cream Product

August 27, 2021 By Staff Writer

Anti Aging Skin Cream is primarily a cream-based cosmetic skin care products sold with the claim of making the user appear younger by smoothing, hydrating or otherwise removing signs of premature skin ageing. The main active ingredients in such creams are vitamin A, hydroxy acids and collagen. The main effect of such topical applications is to tighten the facial skin, making it appear plumper and firmer. The same effect of tightening is achieved for the face, neck and hands as well as the arms.

However, the main question that follows is whether such products are really capable of reducing wrinkles and promoting firmness of the skin. Many consumers are of the view that anti-wrinkle creams are the answer to every beauty problem. With all due respect to those efforts, the truth is that retinoids are not effective in reducing wrinkles and neither do they make the user look younger. This is because their action is not at the level that is required to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, the building blocks of the skin. What they do is to make the skin look dull and suffer from other visible ageing effects.

It is true that most people suffer from wrinkles, but this does not mean that the product they use must have side effects. There are plenty of anti-wrinkle products that do not cause any harm, and they do offer a degree of brilliance sf cream. The most common ingredients in such products are avocado oil, retinoids, hyaluronic acid and peptides.
Retinoids can be termed collagen and elastin mimickers. They work by increasing the thickness of the dermis, making it look firmer. In fact, they are known to promote a glow on the skin that cannot be found in non-dermal skincare creams.

It is interesting to note that although retinoids are known to be helpful in reducing wrinkles, some people actually get them if they are exposed to the sun. Avocado oil, on the other hand, is an excellent moisturizer.

Hyaluronic acid is another ingredient commonly used in anti-wrinkle products. It has the ability to retain water in the body and thus prevents dehydration and makes one feel hydrated and relaxed. It also helps in repairing injured tissues, smooths uneven skin tone, reduces redness and offers protection against the harmful UVB rays coming from the sun. Peptides are a type of peptide known to increase cellular growth and activity that is responsible for providing youthful looks and a dark spots free complexion.

One of the most important things to know about ageing is that exposure to sunlight causes the skin to age faster. An intensive may help you reduce these effects. A good cream contains antioxidants that are effective in fighting the effects of ultraviolet light and therefore helps protect your skin from premature ageing and fine lines and wrinkles. Other ingredients such as Cynergy TK or Coenzyme Q10, when added together provide even greater protection by significantly increasing the antioxidant activity in the skin. The combination of these powerful ingredients will help fight off the visible signs of ageing such as dark spots, wrinkles and lines.

If you are suffering from wrinkles, dry skin or other signs of ageing, it may be time to consider moisturizing your face. In fact, you may want to stay away from creams with petroleum jelly or mineral oil because these products contain harsh chemicals that could worsen your skin’s condition. You may want to look at products that contain grape seed oil, Babassu wax or Maracuja passion fruit extract instead. These substances are very similar to the skin’s own natural oils and are absorbed more easily by your face. It may sound expensive, but it could end up being very beneficial for your skin.

Using an anti aging skin cream may sound like a pretty big deal but the truth is it really isn’t. Your skin is so fragile that any sign of ageing may cause extreme stress and worry for you. By using some of these creams on a daily basis you can slowly ease the symptoms of ageing such as dry skin, wrinkles and lines. Plus, your appearance will be much better. You can also take comfort in knowing that you are doing something about the signs of ageing and you didn’t have to spend a lot of money to get there.

Can Collagen Supplements Improve Your Skin?

July 28, 2021 By tyfhvn

Collagen is a key component for your body and in particular for your skin.

One of the many promises of collagen products is that collagen can be absorbed by the skin. This is true collagen is made up of proteins which are found in connective tissues like collagen fibers, and the body itself. When you consider how collagen works, it’s not surprising that a company would develop a product to help increase this substance.

Collagen peptides are one such way to make collagen more absorbable. Liquid collagen is essentially a type of collagen supplement intended to help increase skin elasticity and tone and prevent common signs of aging from developing. Collagen is a naturally occurring protein in the body which holds tissue together, supports the skeleton of the body, bones, and muscle, and helps to keep skin smooth and supple. In fact, collagen itself is so necessary to life that without it the body would lose most of its ability to function.

The basic way that the body produces collagen is through the natural process of collagen synthesis. This involves forming amino acids from glucose and other nutrients like fatty acids, proteins, and vitamins. These combine using the protein folding method so that each time the molecules have been made, a new one is made as a result. Collagen protein is the primary building block of connective tissue and is necessary for supporting healthy joints and tendons.

One of the ways to boost collagen levels naturally is through the use of topical collagen supplements. Most of these products are protein powders which can be applied directly to the skin. Some of these also contain vitamins and minerals to promote the absorption of the powder. One popular type of liquid collagen is collagen gel, which is just as effective as liquid collagen in many ways but is more pleasant to use since it does not have a foaming action. Collagen powder is often mixed with a drop of olive oil, which helps to make it a more pleasant experience.

Liquid collagen may also be used topically on wounds. It is especially effective on cuts and scrapes, as it is able to penetrate quickly into the tissues to promote healing. If you are looking for an effective facial mask, for example, you can try Foroutan, which contains high amounts of functional keratin, an essential protein. For outgrowing signs of aging, the product may help you reduce wrinkles. For outgrowing scars and blemishes, Foroutan can help eliminate scars.

In addition to topical applications, many of which are available online, people who want to promote the overall health of their bodies should consume a variety of foods that contain essential amino acids. One of the best sources of these essential amino acids is soy. Soy is among the most powerful vegetarian foods around, and its amino acids promote collagen production. It is wise to eat foods like soy tofu, miso, tempeh, and soymilk at least once or twice a week.

“Menopause” – The Contra Aging Technique To Help Men Stay Younger

July 23, 2021 By Staff Writer

If you are a male over 40 and are susceptible to erection problems, rigidity, soreness and muscle weakness, stress and anxiety and depressive disorders, or temperature intolerance, you could be suffering from Andropause.

Andropause is a disorder caused by the deficit of bodily hormones, specifically androgenic hormone or testosterone. Its effect can be severe, although not as noticible as the Menopause for women. It really is exciting that hormone substitute is popular with women but rarely talked about for males.

The decrease in hormonal levels for both sexes presents an adverse influence on your health. Starting around 25 years of age, DHEA and other male growth hormone start to decline. With falling hormones, it is actually harder to preserve muscles, you need more exercise to get the same results and that’s not always a good idea. Your skin can start to sag and body fat actually starts to bind into more dense layers across the spine and abdominal area. Your Stamina is also affected and exercise resistance takes place. Osteoporosis is seen in women and also happens to men to a lesser degree. This may result in bone injuries from falls as the bone density can decrease. Wrinkles can also occur because of a male growth hormone deficit. Libido is also. These changes are a direct result of Menopause and Andropause.

Hormonal supplementation continues to be a popular option for women and can be used for many years with medical supervision. In Contra–Ageing treatment, it is though that by keeping hormonal levels to that of a 25-30 year old can provide substantial overall health advantage. It is necessary to check your hormone levels regulalry to ensure optimium health and adjust the dosage if required.

Bioidentical hormone replacement is the optimum form of hormone replacement as this mimics the compounds and levels of hormones that occur naturally in our body. Normal therapy uses things such as horse urine and can have hormone levels 2000 times higher than occurs normally.

The decline in testosterone comes from multiple causes and treatment shouldbe carefully guided. Aromatase (an enzyme that converts Male growth hormone into Estradiol increases as we get older. This boosts free oestrogens and decreases the free Male growth hormone. Prostate malignancy is linked with higher levels of oestrogens. Aromatase inhibitors, for example chrysin, nettle extract, and Arimidex can inhibit aromatase. Testicular atrophy contributes to lowered androgenic hormone or testosterone generation.

A training course of therapy with HCG energizes testicular growth and may improve Male growth hormone generation. An all round mineral, vitamin, and antioxidant supplement as well as a proper diet can help to improve testosterone production.

DHEA and melatonin supplementation can also boost free testosterone. A diet regime that also includes a substantial amount of beans, specifically soy, is helpful in supplying the necessary foundations for our physiques to produce these chemicals. Keeping cholesterol levels within normal ranges is also crucial for hormone activity. Testosterone replacement can be achieved using creams, capsules or perhaps injection.

Products containing natural male growth hormone are well ingested through the pores and skin, sidestepping having to be processed by the liver, and are easy for our bodies to utilise, and are preferable to supplements. There have bene concerns raised that testosterone substitute may well worsen benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH). If you have a prostrate problem, then supplementation is best avoided.

With correct supplementation, you can expect to restore muscle tissue, improve bone density, increase vigour, improve libido, lessen your risks for a number of cancer as well as Alzheimer’s improving your quality of life.

Keeping Your Brain Young and Nimble is key to stopping ageing

July 16, 2021 By tyfhvn

Seeing our bodies getting worse as we get older can very often be both painful and even depressing. Eventually, we can find ourselves becoming less agile, slower in our appearance.

But far worse than this, is watching our brain start to fail. It contains the essence of who we are. It gives rise to our experiences… and starting to see this deteriorating is scary indeed.

So just what can be done to protect your brain well into old age? Here are some tips and suggestions that can help…

Never stop learning.

Your brain needs stimulus and intrigue to work properly. By actively learning and getting new experiences you help to stop or at least slowdown ageing. Our brains are overloaded with constant barrages of information and are built to throw away as much as possible. However, by learning and practising recalling your experiences, your brain will work better. Performing the exact same things day in, day out, encourages your brain to reduce its ability to learn and adapt as it did when you were younger.

Many people get stuck in a rut doing the same things again and again not subjecting themselves to new experiences. Partly this is due to simple societal pressures: as we age, we tend to become less active overall, less social and miss out on opportunities for learning.

The real key is to keep trying new things. Many people say that playing chess is a good way to keep your brain healthy but in fact, this isn’t necessarily the best option: playing chess is just one activity and involves relatively little learning.

How about, trying playing computer games. Each time you try a new computer game, you must pick up new skills and adapt to new scenarios. Each time you learn a new computer game, you use the controls differently, which helps build new neural pathways in your brain. A new game has a new set of skills and that means you are continually learning and adapting to change.

Stay Social

Our brains really benefit from socialising. This is important, as this stimulation releases positive hormones and keeping your brain active and challenged. Getting older, we often start to keep ourselves locked away and COVID has not exactly helped. This means less interaction and more potential deterioration. This is something to avoid.

Doing This 1 Simple Thing Can Help You Sleep Better

May 27, 2021 By tyfhvn

Suffering from a lack of sleep? We all know how frustrating it is when you can’t get off to sleep or you keeping waking up in the middle of the night.

Many studies have shown just how important a good night’s sleep is for both your physical and mental health. There has also been a marked rise in anxiety bought about by Covid-19 and the prospect of having to return to offices with lots of other people.

Waking up in the middle of the night is especially problematic. Scientist have known for many years that part of your lower brain looks out for danger and things that can hurt you. It seems to go into overdrive at this point and causes your mind to dwell on negative things going on in your life. This becomes a viscious circle as you then latch onto this cause more worry making it difficult to get back to sleep.

Getting off to sleep well can really improve the quality of your sleep. There are a number of thnngs that can stop you drifing off at night. However, there is a new villan on the scene.

This innocious object can really disrupt your sleep patterns without it being obvious why.

The humble mobile phone has been shown as a major hazard to drifting off.

There are 3 issues that crop up:

  • Overstimulation. Experts recommend not to check your email or browse the web in the evenings as this moves your brain back into the Beta state which is associated with alertness, stress and worry. Our body clocks naturally slow down in the evenings moving us more into a relaxed set of alpha brainwaves. It is very easy to slip into a deep sleep from this state. It has been suggested that you should not look at your phone for at least a couple of hours before bed,
  • Blue light. Early LED’s could only produce red, yellow and green light. Blue was simply not easy to create. However, in recent years advances in LED technology have led to a much fuller spectrum of light including blue LEDs. Our modern phone screens produce more blue light and this is very close to daylight. Peering at our screens simulates daylight which is not conducive to getting to sleep. There have also been a lot of suggestions that blue light can damage our eyesight with too much exposure. Many modern monitors come with a setting to reduce blue light in the evenings to reduce the strain on your eyes and help your wind down. iPhones and Android devices have settings that automatically reduce blue light in the evening going a yellower appearance. This setting should really be turned on!
  • Electromagnetic smog. The last category is not well known. Researchers discovered that the Wifi and microwave signals from your phone are picked up by your pineal gland. This gland which is in the middle of your head is strongly linked to our eyes and the areas of our brain that process images. It is stimulated by daylight. As it becomes dark, our bodies release melatonin, a hormone that makes us sleepy. Having a mobile or cordless phone close to your head when you are sleeping has a similar effect to being in sunlight. It suppresses melatonin and makes it difficult to sleep even in the dark. Your phones should be kept at least 6 feet away from your head. Mobile phones are controversial and more and more evidence is stacking about the negative effects they can have on our health. It is always best to limit your exposure. France has gone as far as banning children under 16 from being allowed mobiles following a study showing the microwaves from these were potentially damaging their brains as they have thinner skulls than adults!

There are also a number of other common sense things that can help sleep better:

  • Avoid caffeine. Try and limit your last cup to late afternoon. Caffeine is a stimulant and drinking this late at night is a sure-fire way to lose sleep.
  • Try a milky, warm drink. A hot cup of milk can help to make you drowsy. It is almost an old wives tale, but it works.
  • Read a book. Most of us will quickly get sleepy reading a book, even a good one. Try going to bed a few minutes earlier with a good book!

I really help these tips help you to get a better night’s sleep!

3 Common Mistakes almost everyone makes with their Vitamin D Supplement That Destroy Its health benefits And How To Avoid These Mistakes Once and For All!

May 5, 2021 By tyfhvn

Summary

Getting optimal levels of Vitamin D is essential for our health, particularly if you don’t live in a warm climate. However, taking the right form of Vitamin D is important and provides greater benefits than the synthetic versions.

Types of Vitamin D

Vitamin D is just Vitamin D isn’t it?

Well, it’s not as simple as that. Vitamin D is not actually a vitamin. It’s really a hormone. Sounds scary, but this is a natural substance that triggers many processes in your body and activates many of our genes.

Vitamin D is produced naturally by our bodies when we get exposed to sunlight. It is often called the “Sunshine” vitamin because of this. This is the natural form of Vitamin D and often referred to as Vitamin D3.

Most of us don’t get enough exposure to sunshine to create optimal levels of this vitamin. It needs to be more than just your arms and face. Optimal levels require that most of your body is exposed. It needs something like 10 minutes of exposure a day to trigger sufficient production.

The Great Sunshine Hoax

In recent years, there have been many horror stories to stay out of the Sun and to slather yourself with sunscreen. Even moisturisers now have added sunscreen to block out ultraviolet rays.

The problem with this is that it stops your production of Vitamin D. These sensationalist stories point out that excessive sunbathing and getting burnt can cause skin cancer. However, we also know that low vitamin D levels can also cause cancer. It activates many genes that are responsible for suppressing cancer in your body and it also boosts your immune system.

The challenge is to get the right balance. Many studies have shown that very few people have anything near to optimal levels. Even in the summer, Vitamin D deficiency is rampant. Therefore some form of supplementation is needed.

Most Vitamin D supplements are labelled as Vitamin D, but actually contain a synthetic form know as D2. This is NOT the same as D3 which is generated by your body. It is less absorbable and the benefits from taking this are less than half of D3. It is best to check the labels of any Vitamin D supplements to make sure that you are getting D3. Sometimes the label will refer to D3 as Cholecalciferol and D2 as Ergocalciferol.

D2 is cheaper to produce and hence why it finds its way into many Vitamin D supplements. It is also sometimes added to food to boost their Vitamin D content.

Sources of Vitamin D

Vitamin D is created by your body when it is exposed to the Sun. It is also found in various foods such as:

  • Salmon and oily fish.
  • Mushrooms
  • Eggs
  • Dairy products such as milk, butter and cheese.

If we have problems getting enough sunlight to generate enough D3, it is far worse with foods. There are beneficial levels in these foods, but they are well below optimal levels.

Fortunately supplements can be purchased readily online and through health food shops. The spray form has been shown to be the most effective as it is absorbed readily under your tongue entering the bloodstream quicker than through being swallowed in a capsule.

So Just How Much Vitamin D do you need?

We now get into one of the greatest frauds in modern medicine and optimal health. You will often seen something called the Recommended Daily Amount or RDA. This sounds great, “If I take this much then I should be healthy!”. However, this is not the case. RDA’s were originally created to avoid certain conditions such as scurvy. There are the minimum doses that prevent particular conditions.

Some well-known health gurus have suggested that the pharmaceutical industry has a vested interest in making sure that you aren’t aware of these optimal levels. After all, it will sell more of its products if your health is compromised. There are billions of dollars a year spent on rubbishing the alternative health and wellness industries. If you want to find out more, read the New York Times bestseller “Big Pharma” on Amazon and you will be shocked at just how bad things are.

Do you remember the tales about the crews of sailing ships going to the new world going down with scurvey as they were not getting enough Vitamin C? Given the long voyage at sea and the lack of fresh food, these crews were beset with various ailments.

The RDA for Vitamin C was set as the minimum needed to avoid scurvy. Similarly, rickets is a condition caused by a lack of Vitamin D either in your diet or through low exposure to sunlight.

RDA’s have nothing to do with what is optimal. Researchers have shown over many decades that optimal doses are often orders of magnitude higher than the RDA. Do you want your health to be just about OK with the absolute minimum levels of vitamins and nutrients? Or do you want to be at your radiant best? I know which I prefer!

Most of the studies have indicated that optimum levels are somewhere between 1000 and 3000 IUs of Vitamin D. The RDA is 600IUs, but studies from the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology suggest at least 1500-2000 IUs are needed for adults. It is also possible to get your Vitamin D levels checked via a simple blood test. This will confirm the levels of supplementation that may be needed.

It is important to take Vitamin D3 along with Vitamin K2. In fact, the most reputable supplements will already include this pairing. Vitamin D increases the calcium that our bodies absorb from our diets. This can lead to a condition called Calcification. This is linked to the furring of our arteries. This is clearly not desirable and can be associated with heart disease. K2 stops this from happening and helps calcium to be absorbed by our bones.

Can Rice Get Rid Of Wrinkles Better Than Skin Creams?

April 13, 2021 By tyfhvn

Let’s take a look at a skincare product that you’ve probably never come across before. We’ve all seen various exotic skin creams costing lots of money. Retinal, Nano and all sorts of things and then some.

Let me tell you the story about how this skincare product was discovered.

The setting is a rural factory making Japanese wine. Like a good french wine, the workers get heavily involved in the preparation and fermentation process. Remember see everyone kneading the grapes with their feet? Weill this is similar except they were using their hands

What they found was that the various lines on their wrists disappeared over a short period of time. We all tend to touch our faces throughout the day and it seems that the fermented rice erased the wrinkles where they touched them!

Many of us have tried various face creams and their results usually don’t live up to the hype. Some make your face feel smoother, but very few make any visible difference. Those that do, tend to be prohibitively expensive. There is a lot of controversy around some of the more recent “Miracle” products using Nanotechnologies to target underlying layers of your skin. Recent research has suggested that these can be toxic and we may inadvertently poison our bodies! Not quite what we signed up for.

Anti-Ageing has become a huge subject over the last ten years with real strides being made into treatments that really can turn the clock back. One branch has looked at the groups of people that have the longest lifespans to try and understand exactly why they age better. One factor they discovered is that these groups regularly consume fermented food products.

If you think of products such as Kim Chi and Kefir, these have been used for millennia. There are a number of theories around why they would help longevity, but it seems that beneficial bacteria are generated by the fermentation process as well as nutrients in easier to absorb forms.

Sake rice skin cream

Fermented rice is used to make the well know Japanese wine called “Sake”. This is filled with vitamins, amino acid and minerals. Who thought a tipple could be good for you! It is when this is used on your skin that the real benefits seem to appear.

Some have also reported that it can remove age spots.

As well as being able to reduce the signs of ageing, it can remove things like blemishes, inflammation, pimples, acne and even eczema. There is a long-established history of its use in Japan for exactly these purposes.

You don’t need to drink it and it can be applied topically to your skin. Its slightly acidic properties help with targeting skin lightning and dark spots.

Enjoying sake with friends

You don’t need to apply wine to your skin either. A number of enterprising cosmetic firms have created serums using Sake. They have supplemented this with a number of other complementary products which multiply its effects.

These are sourced from both Japan and the US using good manufacturing processes (GMP) so you have certainty around how these products are created. These are made more in line with food products than conventional cosmetics.

There is little control and oversight with many skin cream products and some may contain some fairly toxic chemicals. There has also been a number that use Nanoparticles to deliver their ingredients deep into your skin. If you been reading newspapers recently you’ll be aware that particles like this are controversial and nobody really knows the long term side-effects

It is important to make sure that Sake is sourced organically. Some manufacturers product’s have been contaminated with pesticides and fertilisers. These pesticides seep deep into the plants and ultimately could end up in your body.

Pesticides build up on our bodies over time and can cause many health issues. You only have to look at the controversy surrounding Roundup recently to understand just how dangerous some of these pesticides can be.

Sake production is a time-consuming process that goes through a number of steps:

First of all, it has to be washed to break down and soften the grains. Stage two is steaming the rice.

Stage three is actually adding a particular mould which really helps this breaking down process. It is absolutely critical to get temperatures right at this point so that mould kicks off the fermentation

Stage four then mixes the rice and water together to form a mash which later becomes a paste. It is then left to ferment for around 12 months. It is mixed periodically to keep it warm and boost the fermentation process. Only at the very end does it get pressed to form the wine.

So what are the uses for Sake?

If your skin isn’t looking great, it can be used for lightly invigorating your skin without looking artificial and is a very good way of boosting your skin.

It can be used really well to remove dark spots. it’s actually been used to do similar things to lemon juice, apple cider vinegar and other natural products. It leaves the skin softer and is less harsh than some other approaches.

It’s also not toxic with no heavy chemicals, so is much more natural.

Make sure to look for a product that is organic, manufactured to GMP and look for serum as this is better than rubbing alcohol wine onto your face! Serums are normally blended with complementary products to enhance the positive effects on your skin.

A Simple Drink To Cure Knee And Joint Pain

February 23, 2021 By tyfhvn

Joint pain is most often experienced in your feet, knees, lower back, hands, and elbows. There are basically 10 main causes of joint and knee pain.

Jarring & compression. Some forms of movement heavily jar the knees, hips and lower back, often compressing a joint beyond its normal load-bearing capacity or range.

Misalignment. Most people have experienced landing badly or twisting a joint at some point in their lives. Some sports regularly place extreme stresses on our bodies.

Over-extension and Twisting. This is frequently seen in sports such as Tennis and Karate when a joint is stretched beyond its normal limits damaging the tendons or joints.

Poor posture and muscular weakness. Much knee pain and lower back pain is caused by a combination of poor posture such as slouching in a chair at work all day, coupled with weak lower back muscles.

Overuse. Repetitive movements over time can lead to increased wear and tear of the joints. If the joints are also misaligned, this can occur fairly quickly.

Lack of movement / Underuse. This is where your muscles and bones don’t get enough exercise.

Inflammation. Anyone with Hayfever has experienced first hand when inflammation goes into overdrive. Rheumatoid arthritis is very similar where the body over responds to a stimulus and starts attacking your joints resulting in a swollen & painful experience!

Ageing. As we age, our bodies are less efficient at absorbing nutrients. Also, wear and tear is multiplied over time.

Dietary deficiencies (This is far more common than you might think and is a massive problem in the western world)

Most people mistakenly think that getting joint pain is down to them getting older. However, there is much more to this and fortunately, lots can be done about this.

Pain is generally a warning sign from your body that needs to be heeded. Acting quickly can make a real difference to the pain getting worse. Left untreated, your mobility and quality of life can reduce which no one wants!

There is a lot of evidence that shows that your body can naturally repair your joints and this process goes on continually. However, this depends on the right conditions being in place. Firstly, your body needs certain nutrients to support the healing and repair process. As we get older, our bodies are less efficient in absorbing these, so it needs a helping hand to get optimal levels of nutrition.

There is another massive problem often called the “Western Diet”. Over farming and the use of fertilizers has led to our foods being deficient in many of the core minerals that we need to stay healthy. It is simply not possible to maintain optimal health without some form of supplementation.

There are several drinks that can easily be made at home which can really help to remove or stop joint pain. These are also inexpensive to prepare.
Effectively, there is a set of minerals, vitamins and enzymes that help to restore these optimal levels of nutrition to support healing.

The core 3 vitamins are:
• Vitamin C
• Vitamin D
• Vitamin K2

These all help your joints and bones healing and support bone density.

For minerals, the following 2 have been shown to be critical:
• Boron
• Magnesium

The final category is enzymes. These are catalysts or compounds which either start or boost chemical reactions in your body. A famous scientist discovered that Enzymes are essential for optimal health and went on to show that the right ones were very effective in fighting cancer and arthritis back as long ago as the 1950s. The key one to quickly relieve inflammation and swelling associated with joint pain is from Pineapple and called Bromelain.

I have experimented with the best ways to take these nutrients to get quick results. It seems to work best with a mixture of juice and a couple of natural supplements. Many supplements are artificial or synthetic and do not work as well. It is best to take these in a natural form.

Ingredients:

A fresh Pineapple. (Do not use canned Pineapple or Pineapple juice for this. These tend to have added sugar, preservatives or have been cooked, killing the useful enzymes. Add a couple of slices to the mix.

Orange Juice. (Again look for one which contains the pulp as this has more nutrients and far less sugar. Look for no added sugar or dodgy additives) You can even juice a fresh orange for the best effect.

A stick of Celery, preferably Organic. Celery helps break down inorganic calcium which builds up in our joints from eating dairy products. This causes spurs, decreased circulation and clicking noises. Chinese medicine holds that Celery is also good for your sex drive!

Cinnamon. This can be used as a stick or powder. Add about half a teaspoonful to the blender. Cinnamon is a powerful anti-inflammatory and can help reduce joint pain.

Rolled Oats. Cock this in a saucepan with a little water. Usually, 3 or 4 minutes seems to do the trick. Then add to your blender. They help to increase the production of Nitric Oxide in your body, this helps to improve the circulation to your joints helping to better deliver nutrients and flush out toxins. Although they are carbohydrate, they contain very few calories or sugar.

Local, raw honey. This helps to make the mixture sweeter to taste. Small amounts of raw honey are good for you and contains natural anti-inflammatory agents as well as being anti-bacterial.

Blend these in a juicer to form a nice smoothie. It will normally keep for a couple of days in the fridge.

Supplements:

For Vitamin D3, I would use a commercial spray product which put under the tongue as this has the best absorbency. Only use D3. This is the form that occurs naturally in your body. The other type of Vitamin D is synthetic and much less effective.

Make sure that yours also contains K2. Vitamin D can cause calcification in your arteries and veins. However, the K2 stops this and helps improve your circulation. Joints are very dense structures that do not always get enough blood. K2 helps improve this.

Vitamin D should be around 3000iu in strength. This seems to work best for me, although you should take advice on what is suitable for you.

Boron is an essential mineral that greatly improves your bones and joints. Deficiency is common and linked to joint pain. Again, this is down to over-farming and modern food production methods. Boron is better taken in an ionic solution or in a chelated form. Have a rummage around Amazon to find a suitable formula. I have found a couple of drops of the Ionic solution can be dropped into the blender.

This smoothie should be taken twice a day for at least a week to start noticing results. Please feel free to let me know how you get on.

Home Remedies For A Cough That Won’t Go Away

Finding a cough medicine that actually works is a real challenge

A cough medicine that actually works???

One of my favourite discoveries about 25 years ago was how to get rid of a persistent cough. If you are anything like me, you will have tried a variety of cough medicines, only to find out that they don’t work! Sure, they help soothe your throat for ten minutes or so, but they never really help much for getting mucus off your chest or stopping your dry cough.

I used to go to Kung Fu classes and was talking to my teacher about coughs. I did a lot of flying and colds and coughs seem to get spread easily on planes. After groaning that nothing seems to help much and you just had to let them run their course, he mentioned to me an old traditional Chinese cough medicine.

He had an allotment and grew quite a few vegetables for his family. The secret ingredient for his cough medicine grows like a weed in the UK and is often mistaken for a doc leaf.

This ingredient is Horse Radish. Think of the hot extra seasoning that you add to your beef!

To be fair, if this was sold as a commercial cough medicine, it would probably be sold with a health warning as it works, but is a very intense experience.

I remember the first time that I used Horse Radish. When I drank it, it felt like whiskey going down. You get the burning sensation which normally fades after 5 or 10 seconds. Except that with horseradish, it still feels like this ten minutes later. The heat or the vapour from this seems to open your chest up. About an hour later, I started coughing and the muck from my lungs came straight up. It’s fair to say that my cough pretty much disappeared on the spot!

I took it a couple of times over the next day or so and my cough just disappeared, way, way quicker than usual.

How do you prepare horseradish for your cough?

Get hold of fresh, smallish horseradish. Then grate this into a small saucepan. You don’t need a lot. A word of warning. When you grate this, you will discover just how potent horseradish is! We have all had our eyes water from peeling onions. Well horseradish is about ten times the strength. You should also put your extractor fan on or open the windows, as the aroma is very strong.

Heat the saucepan gently. You want this warm rather than hot. Overheating can kill the active ingredients of horseradish. Add a small amount of water to make this easier to heat.

Another tip is to squeeze half of a fresh lemon into this and then heat the mixture gently for 5 minutes or so. Let it cool and then it is ready to drink. You only need to take a tablespoonful at a time and can refrigerate the mixture to keep it for a few days.

It is very potent cough medicine.

If you find it too much, you can use radish instead. It works, if not as strongly. It should only be used a few times and that should be all you need.

Another tip is to add a small amount of honey. Generally natural honey is best as it has not been boiled like most commercial honey and still has its natural healing properties.

What Form Of Curcumin Is Best For Arthritis?

February 5, 2021 By Staff Writer

Curcumin is the active ingredient of turmeric and is well known for its anti-inflammatory properties. Now researchers have found curcumin may also help underlying causes of inflammation and reduce damage to bone and cartilage. Traditionally it has been used in Chinese and Indian Ayurvedic medicine to treat arthritis.  Several recent studies show that curcumin has anti-inflammatory properties and modifies immune system responses. A 2006 study showed turmeric was more effective at preventing joint inflammation than reducing joint inflammation.

What is it

Curcumin is a yellow-coloured powder ground from the roots of the lily-like turmeric plant. It is a common ingredient in curry powder. The turmeric plant grows in India and Indonesia and is related to the ginger family.

Medicinal Uses of Curcumin

The spice turmeric, made from the Curcuma longa plant, has been a traditional part of Indian medicine or Ayurveda for thousands of years. Practitioners recommend the ground root of the plant for headaches, colds, fever, kidney disease and many other ailments. Turmeric is also applied to the skin to help heal bruises, cuts and insect bites. The active components of turmeric are curcuminoids, with curcumin the most abundant of these. Turmeric or isolated curcumin may help prevent or relieve inflammation, the underlying cause of the pain of arthritis.

Interestingly, Turmeric is sometimes referred to as the “Killer of Worms”. Ayurvedic medicine has long used Turmeric to kill parasites without the toxic side effects of prescription drugs. Some forms of arthritis and inflammation are related to parasites and this is a useful benefit of taking turmeric.

How to Consume

It is taken orally in capsules or spice. For capsules, typically 400 mg to 600 mg three times per day is the standard dosage or 0.5 g to 1 g of powdered root up to 3 g per day.

Curcumin is generally well tolerated, although a small number of people may experience gastric upset at higher dosages. This can be helped by reducing the dose or eating this with food.

Turmeric is not well absorbed by our digestive system. In its normal form, it needs to be taken for a very long period of time to make a difference. Studies have shown that India has some of the lowest rates of conditions such as Alzheimer’s. This has been attributed to the almost universal use of Turmeric in Indian cuisine. Over time, this builds up the protective properties of Turmeric.

Most people are looking for faster relief and don’t want to build this up over a period of years.

The Most Effective Ways To Consume Turmeric and Curcumin

Fortunately, a number of different ways have been found to boost the bioavailability of Turmeric.

  1. Black Pepper. One of the earliest enhancers is Black Pepper. There is also a proprietary formula called Peperine which is more effective than black pepper alone. This is not the optimal enhancer as it works by blocking a liver enzyme which allows the turmeric to be better absorbed. However, this enzyme is there for a reason! Several studies have suggested that this can have negative health impacts if used regularly.
  2. BCM95. This is a proprietary blend of Curcumin plus the oils from the turmeric plant that is standardised to increase its effectiveness. Studies have shown that it is better absorbed and stays in the bloodstream for much longer, up to 8 hours without needing to add other absorption enhancers.
  3. Cooking, The active ingredients in Turmeric are released during cooking making it easier to absorb. However, it is important not to overdo this as excess heating can reduce its beneficial properties.
  4. Quercitin. This is a flavonoid that combines with Turmeric to make it work better. Adding peppers or Quercitin powder to your cooking can make a big difference.
  5. Fat. Certain fats seem to improve availability. One of the easiest is adding a drop of olive oil. This helps to absorb this into the bloodstream and also allows it to pass the blood-brain barrier improving the benefits for your brain. Olive oil should always be the Extra Virgin as this is cold-pressed. The other type uses heat which destroys much of the benefit of olive oil.
  6. Ginger. This works in a similar fashion to Piperine but seems to not have the same health concerns. This is readily and cheaply available making it a great addition.
  7. Encapsulation. Some formulas coat Turmeric with oil or an emulsifier to let it better pass through the stomach into the bloodstream.

It is well worth reading reviews to check other people’s results with Curcumin supplements. It is also worth experimenting to see which works best for you.
